While the Blues Driver has a very warm, full sound the Tube Screamer is far more biting and bright. This is due to the substantial mid-range boost the circuitry gives the sound. For the sound of the guitar on its own the Tube Screamer can be off putting due to this biting quality but when placed in the context of a full band mix, the sound of the tube screamer really helps the guitar cut through.
